Whenever I think of my friend Leslie, I think of bright sunny colors, much like the orange and yellow hues in Van Gogh’s extraordinary paintings. She paints and cooks with those same warm, vibrant colors. Her personality is also as sunny as a bowl of Van Gogh oranges and lemons.
These blanched kumquats and mixed olives in olive oil with a touch of fennel and other herbs and spices, are bright, festive, and a wonderful addition to the holiday table. You can also bottle them in smaller jars and give them as gifts.
