Spicy Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita

spicy Strawberry jalapeno Margarita

This sweet and spicy margarita is perfect for a warm spring evening or a hot summer night. And, Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner and the local strawberries are still in season. So this is the perfect drink to celebrate the holiday and bid farewell to strawberry season.

Now is the time to buy some fresh strawberries. Clean and hull them and then place them in the freezer. I recommend using these fresh frozen strawberries rather than ice to make a smooth, creamy and intensely fruity frozen margarita. You will need a blender to make this drink .

Choose your favorite white tequila and some triple sec to add a touch of  orange flavor that helps to balance and smooth out the tequila and the spicy jalapeños.

If you happen to have some simple syrup use that to sweeten the drink. If not, a couple of tablespoons of agave pairs well with the tequila and the berries.

I do not put salt on the rim of the glass for this margarita but you certainly can choose to do that.

Garnish the glass with a wedge of lime and a fresh strawberry. All you need now is a bowl of chips and some guacamole.

Cheers and happy Cinco do Mayo!
