These cinnamon walnut brownies are one of my favorite brownie recipes and I’ve got lots! I still have not visited the original Moosewood Restaurant in downtown Ithaca New York. The restaurant opened in 1973 as an outgrowth of a small natural foods store. I have been cooking from my torn, tattered, and treasured recipe companion for over 35 years. Since the creation of this original cookbook, the Moosewood collective has published 14 more collections. I may need to update my cookbook library!
The recipes are timeless, fresh and reliable. These Moosewood cinnamon walnut brownies can be adapted to include cinnamon or other spices, your favorite nuts, or chocolate chunks. I have also used instant espresso powder to add a coffee flavor to the brownies. Just another brownie recipe to add to the collection!
